A Planner For the Year of Zayed:
two versions, Arabic and English
Each year, the United Arab Emirates sets a unifying annual theme, to be observed, practiced and commemorated. For the start of the Year of Zayed in 2018, we created a planner to honor this memorable date, marking100 years since the birth of the UAE’s Founding Father Sheikh Zayed.
Within the team, I first structured the internal layout of the annual planner in English. Once finalized, it was later adapted for the Arabic version, ensuring a consistent design throughout.
Designed to commemorate the UAE’s Founding Father, every month of the Zayed Planner is infused with wisdom from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The planner invites users to reflect on the Founding Father's legacy, transforming daily organization into a motivating journey of growth and reflection.
This commemorative planner offers a variety of sections—yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily—along with blank pages for notes and thoughts. Each section showcases original artwork by Emirati artist Nada Al Abdooli and features Sheikh Zayed's insightful poems and quotes.
Our team chose locally sourced camel leather in colors black and camel, reflecting the UAE's heritage and environment while providing an elegant, protective cover for the planner. To add an element of surprise, we also created complementary postcards and stickers. The planners were a resounding success across the UAE!
