Question and Goals:
A Curated Experience
How might we create an intentionally sensory soothing environment that harmonizes aesthetics with function, creating a bathroom that reflects purposeful design choices?
The goal is to curate a space that fosters relaxation and tranquility, where every element serves both form and function. The client sought to incorporate several essential components into their dream bathroom: a duo of hers & hers sinks, a statement bathtub, a shared hers & hers shower, and a unifying "wow" element to add a touch of awe and elegance to the overall space.
Layout Configuration:
Finding the Right Balance
Leveraging the spacious 4100 mm x 3450 mm dimensions to tastefully integrate the client's wishes, I aimed for an unobstructed view of a visually striking element upon entering the bathroom, shifting focus away from the toilet. The client preferred an open layout, avoiding dim or segregated areas, to foster a sense of spaciousness and continuity.
Curating a Harmonious,
Intimate Sanctuary
I designed sculptural shapes with soft curves, accentuated by indirect lighting, to establish a sense of warmth and comfort.
To maintain the bathroom’s streamlined design and optimize functionality, I added ample storage solutions: under the dual sink vanity, in the shower niche, and behind the toilet.
Development Phase:
Transforming Vision into Reality
Over several months, the site underwent a meticulous construction process as the design gradually materialized. Collaborating closely with the clients, we visited suppliers to handpick the perfect materials, lighting solutions, bathroom fixtures, and a statement bathtub.
The Final Look of the En Suite Bathroom:
An Intimate Space for Revitalization
Embracing Earthy hues and matte finishes, the bathroom's soft gold hardware provides a touch of elegance. The strategic use of indirect lighting accentuates the arch motif found throughout the space.
Once plants are added for a lively touch, the result is an inviting, earthy, and minimalist en suite bathroom—a soothing curated sanctuary for a shared intimate space.
