Personal Projects:
exploring self-expression

Creativity with no end goal:
Watercolor,
Illustration,
Brain Doodles,
Stop Motion Animation.

Here I’m exploring.
It’s cathartic.
And I’m just having fun!

Diving into Watercolors

I took a trip recently and instead of bringing a book (that would probably come back unfinished or unread), I decided to take a travel-sized watercolor kit and notebook instead.

It’s a habit I’ve kept up since and it’s been incredibly cathartic to pause and observe in careful detail.

Eventually I started watercolor journaling.

Brain Doodles to Disconnect

Doodling has often been a method of relaxation in my book. I call these ‘brain doodles’ as I often do them at night before falling asleep. Something about the repetitive movement helps me disconnect from the worries of the day and the planning for tomorrows.

History of a Personal Object:
Stop Motion Animation

Although I haven’t dedicated too much time to this form of art, I love the process of Stop Motion Animation.

Here is an animation using just one piece of paper and repeatedly drawing different scenes in charcoal.
