Situation + Question
Identifying a gap in the market for a gender-neutral loft play bed, we needed to create an innovative design, that tapped into children’s imagination, but also served the purposes of: sleep, storage, play and with an added element of surprise.
How might we create a functional yet playful bed for children to fully immerse themselves in?

3/ Children like to play make-believe and pretend they're grown-ups, so this design direction plays into that.
Process: After diving into several imaginative realms for young kids, and exploring several different directions (above), the kids furniture team and I decided to focus on the cabin in the woods direction (below) for a gender neutral loft bed.

Trevor Play Bed
Inspired by a ‘cabin in the woods’ feel, I designed this playful loft bed to be functional for sleep and packed with storage solutions, and not to forget, an element of surprise for children to discover!
